House @ 10A First Avenue
Project Type: Residential
Completion: 2009
The interior design for this two-storey attic bungalow seeks to create a gradual transition from the exuberant and green external environment to a warm and comforting private sanctuary for the family. The work involves both the interior and a variety of outdoor structures. The first-storey living, dining spaces, and entertainment facilities flow seamlessly through the house, with good and mildly textured materials that engage the garden setting.
The staircase rises through a void that connects the levels, including second-storey bedrooms and an attic library and study. The use of warm and layered natural materials in these private spaces creates a mood of rest and rejuvenation.
