House @ 66 Gentle Road
Project Scope: Reconstruction
Completion: 2013
The site’s odd triangular shape called for a unique massing design for this 2-storey bungalow with an attic that efficiently maximises land use. The building block widens towards the front of the site, and is expressed as 2 waltzing blocks. These 2 blocks reflects the hierarchy of spaces the house, and allows light to penetrate deeper into the house. A water feature is designed to flow right in front of the living room, allowing the interior spaces to spillover seamlessly into an expanse of greenery. In addition, a plane of motorised screens envelope the master bedroom, giving the facade a distinctive crisp profile, as well as intuitive control of light, heat and privacy.
